The examples below will give you information about what to do in common scenarios.

Spammers/Trollers/Harassment

  1. Give them a warning. Tell them to stop.
  2. If they do it again, gag/mute them. >type !gag (player) or !mute (player)
  3. Still doing it? Kick them. >type !kick (player) (reason)
  4. If they come back onto the server and repeat, ban them for 24 hours. >type !ban (player) (time) (reason)    (recommended to do through ulx menu)

If you remember their Steam name, and they come back on in the future, permanently ban them.

Map exploiters

  1. Give them a warning. Tell them to stop and then teleport them to a location inside the map. >Go to a spot on the map and type !bring (Player name) . This will bring the player to you.
  2. Still doing it? Slay them. >type !slay (player)
  3. Not stopping? kick them. >type !kick (player)
  4. If they come back onto the server and repeat, ban them for 24 hours. >type !ban (player) (time) (reason)    (recommended to do through ulx menu)

Ghosters and Metagamers

Team Switchers

  1. Switch them (hold tab, left click their name and select "Team Switch") and warn them not to do it again.
  2. If they switch teams a further 2 times, and you have told them to stop, on the 3rd time they switch, kick them. >type !kick (player) (reason)         (For reason, put constant team switching)
  3. If they come back onto the server and repeat, ban them for 24 hours. >type !ban (player) (time) (reason)    (recommended to do through ulx menu)

Death giving free runs - FOR DEATHRUN ONLY

  1. Give them a warning. Tell them to stop. If they do not stop, Slay them. >type !slay (player)
  2. Still doing it next time they are on Team Death? Slay them again. >type !slay (player)
  3. If they do it a 3rd time, kick them. >type !kick (player) (reason)
  4. If they come back onto the server and repeat, ban them for 24 hours. >type !ban (player) (time) (reason)    (recommended to do through ulx menu)

If you remember their Steam name, and they come back on in the future and repeat, permanently ban them.

PLEASE NOTE: I should mention that if someone does look like they are giving free runs the first time, try and see if they are doing it deliberately or if they are new to the game and don't know how to play properly.

AFK players

PLEASE NOTE: Most of the Vulcan Network Garry's Mod servers have an AFK kicker. When a player is AFK for 10 minutes, the server will kick them automatically.

However if this is not the case, after 3 rounds of being AFK, force them into spectator. If the server does not have the Force Spectate command, then kick them. >type !kick (player) (reason)

Dealing with AFK players also depends on how full the server is. If the server has under 15 people, you can force them into spectator (if your server has the force spectate command). If the server has over 20 people, kick them.
